Auberge La Douce Montagne

Hotel – Restaurant – Bar | Allemont - France

Auberge La Douce Montagne is a hotel-restaurant, beautifully situated in a valley in the French Alps near Alpe d’Huez. The hotel is an excellent place to spend your holiday during every season of the year, whether you come for winter sports or to go cycling or hiking… Plenty of sunshine, fresh mountain air and lots of activities in the vicinity of the hotel!

Host Maarten, hostess Willemijn and their (multilingual) team will be pleased to welcome you in this cosy hotel and can inform you elaborately about the Alps and their dynamic possibilities.

Besides a stay in a hotel room we also offer the possibility to rent an apartment, a chalet or a fully equipped bungalow tent with the option to make use of the hotel facilities.

Winter: (cross-country) skiing / snowboarding

Not far away from Auberge La Douce Montagne you will find the challenging winter sport area of Grandes Rousses. A free shuttle bus departs just in front of the hotel and it will bring you swiftly to the lift in Oz-Station, which connects directly to the skiing area of Alpe d’Huez (250 kilometres of slopes). You can buy your lift pass already in the hotel, which makes it unnecessary to queue at the cash desk. We can also take care of ski rental, ski storage and skiing lessons for you. Upon your return in the hotel you can sit back and relax in our bar/lounge with a fire place.

Summer: cycling / outdoor / (mountain)hiking

In the tranquillity of La Douce Montagne’s garden and terrace you can recover well from the efforts of the day. Situated in the valley among famous mountain passes such as Croix de Fer, Ornon, Glandon en Alpe d’Huez, La Douce Montagne is an ideal starting point for cyclists, motorcyclists, hikers and other practitioners of outdoor sports. During the summer a lot of cyclists come to the hotel and it therefore has a cyclist-aimed service, which includes a pasta buffet in the afternoon.

Autumn: hiking / mountainbiking / motor cycling

September and October here in Allemont are known for a beautiful Indian summer. The sun, the coloured leaves and the mountain tops already covered in snow will provide you with a beautiful panorama during your activities.

Until the end of October most of the mountain passes are still open, so road cycling as well as mountain biking is still very well possible. This season is also fantastic to discover the Alps by motorcycle. Moreover this time of year lend itself perfectly to go for a walk on the numerous mountain tracks.
