Hundreds of kilometers of footpaths
From the plain of Bourg d'Oisans to the saoring summits of La Meije, from tiny,
suspended villages to high mountain passes, from raging torrents to powerful glaciers,
from deep valleys to immense lonely plateaus, L'Oisans and its six valleys is
a very special place, renowned for decades as a unique treasure trove of the Alps.
In this rare piece of natural beauty the Eau d'Olle valley stands out with its
forests of broad-leaved trees and conifers.
Every way of enjoying nature can be found here. There are hundreds of kilometers
of footpaths to choose from, major mountain passes amongst the most beautiful
of the alpine arch, magnificent lakes nestled in remote valleys.
From relaxation to adventurous activities
Anything is possible from complete relaxation to the most strenuous of activities.
Here, one can just as easily savour the joys of a quit stroll as a long trek to
a mountain refuge, a difficult climb under the mountain sun or a thrilling descent
on a mountain bike...
Sumer in L'Oisans is just like our mountains: beautiful, simple and serene.
The Eau d'Olle valley also stands out strongly with the remarqable destiny of
its waters. Here the uncontrollable torrents are replaced by the calmness of two
major, damed lakes, where nautical activities have become as popular as they were
unexpected in this valley.
In the winter, without losing an ounce of their traditional spirit, the valley
villages are linked to the famous Alpe d'Huez skiing area.
Our real adventurers shouldn't miss the following activities: mountaineering,
parapenting, climbing, via ferrata, rafting, sailing, surfing, winter and summer
skiing, cycling on the road to the mountain passes, mountainbiking, mountain trekking,
hiking, horseriding, cyclotouring, ice-climbing, crosscountry-skiing, etc. etc...
